The lid of the laptop features a Platinum Fusion X2 design. The lid is smooth and the shiny gray bars give the machine an elegant look. The Toshiba logo is in the middle of the lid and we found the lid to be free from fingerprints. The 15 x 1.4 x 9.8″ dimensions of the machine slip easily in any laptop bag. The machine however, is slightly on the bulky side weighing 5.8 lbs. The interior of the machine has a very polished look and the shiny black keyboard further enhances the looks of the machine. The speakers lie above the keyboard and the thin strip of touchpad gives an extra flair to the machine.

The laptop boasts of a large, well spaced keypad along with a full number pad. The keys are shiny and flat and provide a strong feedback.  We were a bit disappointed by the size of the spacebar. We felt that the spacebar is slightly short which can be a problem during typing. The keys gave us a great typing experience.

The Synaptics touchpad of the notebook offered smooth navigation. However, we faced problems while carrying out multi-touch gestures. We had to repeatedly use pinch to zoom feature for the laptop to respond. We were a bit let down by the performance of the touchpad of the machine.

The laptop boasts of a 15.6 inches display which is capable of displaying pictures of resolution measuring 1366 x 768 pixels. The colors displayed by the display were sharp and vibrant. The contrast was good and we really enjoyed watching HD movies on the machine. The screen has wide viewing angles which means that two persons can easily sit and enjoy movies and videos. Despite the glossy finish of the screen, there were no reflections.

The machine has a couple of USB 2.0 ports, a headphone and microphone jack, a lock slot, a USB 3.0 port, HDMI, VGA, Ethernet, blu-ray drive and a 5-in-1 card reader. One of the great features of the USB 3.0 port is that it supports Sleep-and-Charge feature. This means that that you can charge your phone or MP3 player when you machine is sleeping.

The harman/kardon speakers in the machine take care of the audio of the machine. The audio was loud enough and was good enough for filling a small room. The performance of the bass was not up to the mark but we were impressed by overall performance of the speakers.

The machine has a 0.3MP webcam which captures videos of resolution measuring 1280×1024 pixels. The videos captured were smooth and the audio was also clear enough. But in some cases we noticed the videos to be a little grainy and found the audio to be coming out with a little echo.
