Toshiba Mini NB305-N410BN Review

Toshiba Mini NB305 – N410BN is one of the interesting laptops, which is both affordable and has a neat design not like rest of the typical cheap looking netbooks at similar price point. Toshiba Mini NB305 – N410BN Comes with power efficient Intel Atom N450 processor loaded with Windows 7 Stater Edition  – certainly,  no surprise there. It’s definitely a breath of fresh air from the last generation netbooks which used have N270/280 with Windows XP. This netbook is a good contender for the budget netbook battle.

Looks And Design

Toshiba has trimmed down the design of the notebook. NB 205 does not have a uniform thickness. It is tapered nearly by 1.5 inches from the rear while 0.5 inches is tapered from the front. The tapered edges are clearly visible in the new screen bezel. The major change in the design can be witnessed from the positioning of the battery. Previously the battery was protruded out from the rear while now it is inserted underneath.

Keyboard

Just like Toshiba NB205, NB305 sports a metal island keyboard. The keyboard feels sturdy and the keys are of decent size providing a decent typing experience. However we were a bit disappointed to find out that the function keys are a bit small. The touchpad on the other hand is one of the smoothest that we have seen and it offers pretty smooth navigation. The dedicated mouse buttons are easy to press and are quite large.

Audio

NB305 boasts of integrated speakers which provide great audio quality. The speakers are hidden beneath the front edge of the system and we were quite impressed with their sound quality.

This Mini Laptop has 10 inches screen and Screen Resolution of  1024 x 600 which is  little disappointing when considering some netbooks offers HD resolution. The speaker of Toshiba Mini NB305 – N410BN are definitely above average. Unlike rest of the netbook family it has a bigger trackpad and great battery life with – 5800 mAh 6-cell Lithium ion . RAM memory is 1GB which can be upgraded to 2GB. Default Hard disk capacity is 250 GB.

Battery Life

NB305 is equipped with a 6 cell battery which offers a runtime of around 10 hours which is pretty solid.

NB 305 faces stiff competition from ASUS Eee PC 1005PE and Acer Aspire One 532h. However, NB 305 is a good pick because of its comfortable usage. The keyboard and touchpad are great to use and so are its features.
