Toshiba Mini P505D – S8007 Review :
This is one laptop that will not miss your eyes if you walk into a electronics shop, just because of its 18 inch screen . The speakers are really good, but with weak battery life and an underpowered processes the money you pay for this laptop doesn’t seem fair. Even with the video memory of 256MB the graphics is not excellent.This laptop all though might look sleek but underneath it there are few performance glitches when compared to its counterparts.

Looks And Design

At a first glance you will find that the notebook is very large. With dimensions measuring 17.4×11.6×1.6 inches, the laptop is very large and with a weight of approximately 9 pounds you cannot carry the laptop everywhere. But although the laptop is bulky, the build quality of the notebook is very good. The casing is very glossy which subjects the notebook to smudges and fingerprints.

Toshiba Mini P505D – S8007 comes with maximum display resolution of 1680 x 945 . Power is delivered by a AMD turion II mobile processor running at 2.3 GHz. You get 4 GB of Ram when you initially buy this, but it can be upgraded to a maximum of 8GB. The laptop comes loaded with Windows 7 Home premium 64 bit version with few unwanted trial softwares comes pre-installed in it.

Toshiba Mini P505-S8007 displays a 18.4 inches LED backlit display which is capable of displaying pictures of resolution measuring 1680×945 pixels. The colors displayed are quite sharp and vibrant and the viewing angles are also wide which ensures that colors do not get washed out. The notebook is equipped with Harman-Kardon speakers which produces good sound. There are eight touch sensitive controls for media playback.

Battery Life

Battery Life of the notebook is really poor. The notebook is equipped with a 6 cell battery which provides a runtime of approximately 2 hours which is really disappointing.

Though Toshiba Mini P505D-S8007 may look like a big screen laptop but it is a various drawbacks. Frankly we cannot recommend you to go for it particularly when there are other 18 inches laptops such as Satellite P505-S8010 is available in the market. If you are looking forward to purchase an 18 inch laptop then you should refrain yourself from purchasing Mini P505D-S8007.
